5:47 this morning. This spot is called Bến Đá [Rocky Dock], and the neighborhood is Xóm Chài [Fishing Net Neighborhood]. The woman was waiting for her husband to unload their morning catch, which they'd haul to the sidewalk (where I stood to take this photo), to sell immediately.

It then took me more than an hour to walk to my breakfast spot. As I ordered my second cup of coffee, the owner said, "You're getting addicted to this coffee!"

"No, I just need a second cup to stay awake."

"What did you do last night to be so tired?" she joked.

"Nothing, I'm just getting old. I'm always tired."

"Hey, I didn't say anything," she laughed.

"I haven't worked in a while, sister."

You see, "làm ăn" ["work"] is also a slang for having sex. Vietnamese are always bantering.
