I grew up in Chicago and my ancestry goes back in the town to 1880's Humboldt Park and Garfield Park. I moved to a farm in Western Illinois over a decade ago. I am attempting to become more self sufficient. Even though I love Chicago, the future seems more and more uncertain. The area of Illinois that I now reside in has the nickname of Forgotonia, since it is forgotten by politicians, the media, and any companies looking to relocate. It seems like a suitable place to hide away. I would like to say that if you every travel the US again, make a stop in Galesburg. It is very much like the places you have written about.Robertnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4284893230469697578.post-86728609133769586222014-03-13T09:00:12.434+07:002014-03-13T09:00:12.434+07:00Thank you, Linh, for this post. As guilty as I feel sometimes about it, I can't afford to live in Wicker Park, where I work. I actually live next door to New Life's gymnasium on North Ave. It's funny - there are lots of people in my neighborhood who look like they are hurting, but none of them ever set foot inside the gymnasium. Only people who look like they are doing relatively well. Maybe they're still hurting on the inside.Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00758402399119056483noreply@blogger.com
