Cameroonian oryx curry at La Cuisine on 2-15-22--Swakopmund copy

$12 plate of Cameroonian oryx curry at La Cuisine. Actually, this was my first meal in Swakopmund two days ago, 20 minutes after I got off the van. I had eaten badly the night before and that morning, so treated myself to this, but it was only so-so. Too much meat!

In any case, I think this is an improvised version of Cameroonian curry, thus the fresh cuccumber on top. Not a bad touch, to add crunch and coolness. Though not nearly as hot as Indian curry, it was hot enough. Interesting, too, the Indian influence in Cameroonian cooking, since it's a country in West, and not East, Africa.

Hey, speaking of Indian curry, what's India looking like as a potential travel destination for you? Everything is super-cheap there, including food and stay.

Hi Siddharth,

I have been thinking about Kolkata. It's cheaper than Dehli.

Vietnam is reopening on 3/15, but only to the vaccinated. I must get there by May 11th, at the latest, because I'll need to have at least 6 months left on my visa. I'm hoping Vietnam will let in the unvaccinated by then.
