I have no idea if the witch is still alive.

LinhLinh Dinhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00328959360983573810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4284893230469697578.post-3099916809516857092021-04-13T06:34:55.271+07:002021-04-13T06:34:55.271+07:00Around age 18 or 19, I read all his published work...Around age 18 or 19, I read all his published works, and revisited a couple of short stores as a young adult. As I recall, the Nick stories were my favorites, although I have no recollection as to why. As a young aspiring writer I tried to copy his style as an experiment. Didn’t work of course, but I can do terse and pithy.
Looking at the man, the artist and his work now I’d judge him a tortured asshole with mistaken values and world views. Won’t go on about his treatment and views of women (and men), but have to mention in passing his tempestuous relationship with Zionist journalist and writer Martha Gellhorn. Not that any of it matters. He put shotgun in mouth long ago, although his work and controversial legacy lives on in some parts.
Thanks for the parsing and account Linh.
What’s the word on Suki, btw?magohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06062029279291786593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4284893230469697578.post-90919294927761985102021-04-12T15:28:17.892+07:002021-04-12T15:28:17.892+07:00more than fifty years since i read it but i'd ...more than fifty years since i read it but i'd say is a great commentary on america, and some of its inhabitants.craig dudleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02694696257988804287noreply@blogger.com
