At Noi Bai on 2-28-20, about to fly to Seoul--Hanoi

I'm at Noi Bai Airport, about to fly to Seoul. Hey, South Korea has never been so affordable! It's considerably colder in Seoul, so yesterday I got a $15 jacket. Coupled with the $9 hoodie I bought in Laos, I won't freeze to death. It's curious that no one has died from the coronavirus in Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam, so maybe warm weather does neutralize it.

There are doubts about Vietnam's and Thailand's statistics, but not Singapore's.

The situation in Korea is very bad, but if weather is a factor, at least Spring is near.

WATERMELON RESCUE LOCATION--Hanoi

"WATERMELON RESCUE LOCATION." It sounds weird in Vietnamese too. Because of the coronavirus, lots of Vietnamese farm products can't be exported to China, so you can "rescue" farmers by buying, in this case, these watermelons.

Pho joint near My Dinh Bus Station--Hanoi

Pho joint near My Dinh Bus Station. On TV, there was a news editorial advising Vietnamese workers to remain in South Korea. On the wall, there's a flyer asking patrons to not smoke, to avoid spreading the coronavirus to others.

Lots of South Koreans in this building, The Emerald, and in this neighborhood, Nam Tu Liem.

Fenghuang Chinese Restaurant--Hanoi 2

Fenghuang. There's no serious aversion of Chinese, because she's definitely Chinese. Some minibus companies are refusing to carry Chinese passengers, however.

Fenghuang Chinese Restaurant--Hanoi

Feng Huang is a Vietnamese chain of Chinese restaurants. It has five locations, all in Hanoi. For all-you-can-eat dim sum, it's $10, and it's just $11, altogether, if you want to add all-you-can-eat hot pot. On this wednesday night, this branch was packed. There are more people wearing masks in Hanoi, but not even half. Life here is normal.

Vietnam had 16 cases of the coronavirus, but everyone has been cured, it is claimed. No one has died.
