Roast pork on yellow rice and beans for $6, plus $1.50 for Snapple. Another time, I had mofongo with a different kind of rice, plus a bowl of tripe stew, for $7. There were roosters painted on the wall, but with a new paint job for Christmas, the big cocks are gone. Though it was clearly a Puerto Rican joint, they gave me a Viva Mexico calendar. There were other themes. "Aqui me quedo" is "here I stay," and if you know the meaning of Cuchifrito, do tell.
