Dirt cheap bistro inside the Masaryk commuter rail station. Crepe for $1.20, and you can choose from chocolate, chocolate plus coconut, chocolate plus peanuts, strawberry, blueberry, apricot or pear. Inside that little room is a window opening onto the sidewalk. To get the cook's attention, a customer can bang on a bell, the kind you find at a hotel reception desk. A little girl whose head could just reach the window did just that.
As for lunch or dinner, there is a choice of sausages, meatballs or a Spam-like ham. I'm not sure if the ham is the inspiration for Spam, or vice versa, but it was delicious. Coupled with an excellent mashed potato and a pint of pilsner, this set me back but $3.25.
The homeliness of this place is soothing, or at least it was to me.
