It's awesome how many millions of book pages are inked to explain things having their explanation in the simplest of human variables: IQ. The least speakable of things (since the most relevant).

IQ doesn't of course only measure how well you use your logical neuronal organ; it also measures the propensity to use it at all.

I was born and have lived in a land where average IQ is 90-92.
My comrades are slower than they are in the developed world at any job and task, since any job and task benefits from higher intelligence.
But, and having been in touch with people from a wide variety of countries confirms me in that, rapidity of execution is not the main difference.

The main difference is in propensity to use wits. People from low IQ and average IQ lands will do their best to avoid brain work. They will refuse to learn, and improve what they know rationally.
If a little learning will give a non-little and immediate benefit in return, they will take the pain to do the little learning. But you will see them strive to keep it as outward as possible; to learn automatically, and by memory, without having to think the hows and whys.

They hate to learn, but they hate much more to understand.

On top of that, as evolution demands, they shield themselves from the wounds to their pride given by the apparent achievements of their more intelligent and hardworking inmates (and countries) by that little invention of injured vanity going by the name of "pride."
The lower IQ a people has, the less they achieve, the more you'll hear of their "pride." Compensation.

I have lived all my life surrounded by people I can not understand, who can not understand me.

And how could I understand their love for delays, for instance?
Being on time is like a... shame.
Complying to laws is like a... shame.

Unlike the feel-good knick-knacks sellers would have you believe, IQ is strictly tied to nearly all what determines the material outcomes of people. From the propension to physical assault (top-IQ peoples will assault the others from their mainstream media, central banks, stock exchange invisible strongholds), to health issues diffusion, to general unlawfulness, to economic achievements, to rape (or "rape"), marriage breaking, to the degree of civil liberty they can be given without being harmed by it.

Assuming the rest of the citizenry has benefited, look at the effect of post-60s' liberal mores on the black family. Today too many black youth grows up without a father.
Bill-Gates kind of trendies think these people will be helped by watering down school tests to the point that "every boy is above average."
They'd seek solutions to the real problems instead of pandering to the pride and vanity of the less skilled, if they cared; of would they.

Is there anything new under the sun?
One sees the Moynihan Report and concludes that not.

"Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Paris fashion house Chanel and one of the industry’s top designers, says the city that his company has called home since 1909 is now an unsafe 'nightmare.'

The 82-year-old German-born fashion icon — who has been head of Chanel since 1983 and has lived and worked in Paris since the mid 1950s — said the city resembles nothing like the “old French movies” it used to look like.

Things are changing, but I have a feeling I lived in a world that no longer exists.”

It makes an eerie, wistful effect to read Mr. Lagerfeld's constatations while listening to Bach-Busoni's Chaconne played by Benedetti Michelangeli.

The "Left" will say what the Bastille Day attack has no link with Islam/immigration.
The "Right" will say the problem is Islam/immigration.

In the 15th chapter of The Bonfire of Vanities, "The Masque of Red Death" (a citation from Edgan Allan Poe), fictional writer and Nobel candidate Lord Buffin tells what is the problem, at a party of the fashionable society — people whose job was to extract profits from the "underlying population" (to borrow Thomas Veblen's phrase, one dear to Noam Chomsky), to wear social grins and exquisite dresses, to adorn their residences.

When his speech ends,

"The intruder the Bavardages dreaded most, silence, now commanded the room. The diners looked at one another in embarassment, three kinds of it.
They were embarassed for this old man, who had committed the gaffe of interjecting a somber note into an evening at the Bavardages'.
They were embarassed because they felt the need to express their cynical superiority to his solemnity, but they didn't know how to go about it.
Dared they snigger?
After all, he was Loed Buffing of the Nobel Short List and their hosts' house guest.
And they were embarassed because there was always the possibility that the old man had said something profound and they had failed to get it."

Actions have consequences. The act of enslaving a whole people based on their skin color and then acting like it never happened has consequences. The U.S. mowed down the Indians and then used slavery to build its economy. This is never acknowledged in this exceptional, indispensable seat of the empire of chaos.

I wonder if the cop holding forth above ever saw any racist cartoons or heard racist jokes from his colleagues. The black cops in San Francisco and many other police departments have. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/01/us/more-racist-and-homophobic-texts-by-san-francisco-police-are-found.html?_r=0

In SF, the cops also stop blacks and latinos disproportionately, which has been acknowledged in many other places, like New York. http://www.wdtimes.com/sports/state_national_sports/article_7cfb37f3-a890-5109-85db-d9940672286a.html

The murderer in Nice used a truck because he didn't have jets like the U.S. and its Saudi/Israeli/French/German etc allies have. As Medea Benjamin tweeted: "The violence in this world is insane. #Nice. Every day in Syria. Iraq. Streets of USA. Yemen. Libya. Honduras. Mexico. DISARM. DISARM."

But who will be the first to disarm? I guess the cop above would say it should be blacks in his neighborhood. I'd say it should be the U.S. government.
