There are 21 ethnic groups around Dien Bien Phu, so I'm not going to try to guess what they are. I'll try to find out. When I was in this area 25 years ago, nearly all the tribal people were in their native dress. Now, most of them are in jeans and hoodies. Although Dien Bien Phu has changed so much, it's good to be back.

Update: I just found out they're Hmongs, but there are several types of Hmongs, you see, with different clothing for each.
