As always us readers are the beneficiary of your travels. I do not think there is another writer/photographer alive doing what you are doing right now. It is a real pleasure to read and see your dispatches where ever in the world you land in. Thank you.

How do you receive - if at all - medical help/services when needed on your travels? Could you go to a clinic/hospital in Cairo if needed? If so how is that handled? Are you required to buy a form of travelers medical insurance in order to enter the country?

I don't know if they have Pho in Cairo but if they do Pho Ga is my recommendation.

Get well amigo.

Thanks! As for medical attention, I've always been careless about this. As an adult in the US, I never had health insurance, so never saw a doctor or even a dentist. I did visit dentists twice or so in Vietnam, because they were cheap. During Covid, many countries require visitors to have medical insurance, so I did get a policy before entering Lebanon and Egypt. With crazy traffic and universal jaywalking, the traffic fatality in Egypt is atrociously high, but I'm used to crossing streets in Saigon and Hanoi, so it's not a problem for me. At least here, motorbikes don't drive on sidewalks, like in Vietnam...

Oh, and there's no Vietnamese restaurant here. There are less than a thousand Vietnamese in Egypt.

Near the Giza pyramids in 2018, a tour bus carrying Vietnamese hit a terrorist road mine, killing four, including an Egyptian tour guide. Twelve other Vietnamese were injured, three seriously.

In 2015, a Russian airliner carrying 224 people exploded from a terrorist bomb after taking off from Sharm El Sheikh, killing all aboard.
