Two minutes from my building, Cafe Sân Thượng [Terrace Cafe] at 6:25AM. At the next table was a building contractor. Since it had rained hard, he was taking the morning off. It was too wet to work. Talking with a client on the phone, he said, "We're in a very hot country, so we need cool colors." Calling a friend to join him for coffee, he said, "I'm at that traffic circle where you had a fight with two gangstas, where you broke the guy's leg, ha, ha! Why don't you come out and look for them?" Talking to his son, he said, "When you talk to dad, you don't say, 'What time is it?' You must say, 'Dad, what time is it?' You must say, 'What time is it, big brother, big sister or uncle?' Not just, 'What time is it?' Remember that!"

Dad's teaching his son some manners; it all starts when, as a kid, you don't show respect in asking your elders the time which leads, in the blink of an eye, to being a "gangster" getting your leg - or worse - broken in a street fight.

Civility is everything, man, and it must be maintained. In the US, though, there has been a systematic encouragement of nastiness and loutishness from the mass media over decades, so that hardly anyone notices how being an asshole has become the norm. Repeatedly, I've pointed out that if the culture is degraded enough, there's nothing left to defend, but I kept getting shouted down by the assholes at Unz, and that's one key reason why I left that cesspool.

P.S. Just this morning, I told a good friend here about Howard Stern and Jerry Springer, and how Ron Unz is a Jerry Springer, a fact I realized way too late, but better late than never.

Anonymous. The Watch Water article, the documentary etc are total garbage. I don't want to go into detail, except to say it is bullshit and almost certainly a CIA psyop, distraction. Just one tiny detail is this. It is not usually dangerous to drink snake venom. It would also be near impossible to get enough into the water supply. FFS, this is such a preposterous story it must be aimed at the shit for brains clowns who got jabbed. Surely nobody else could be conned by that weak piss. Yes, I am a scientist, though hard sciences but the process is the same and general knowledge alone informs my response. it is NOT complicated.
