What the EU/UK wanted to do to Russia backfired upon themselves. It's Putin who's eating the popcorn while watching the economic implosion that was supposed to happen to Russia happen to Western Europe. Putin and his boys out-thought the West, they beat the West at its own game.
None of this had to happen; those signed (then not honored) Minsk Accords are looking pretty good to the West right about now.
