Because of the worsening Covid situation here, Lebanon has just announced it will enter at least a two-week lockdown, starting Saturday. When it's over, my one month visa will have run out. Learning about this last night, I spent a couple hours looking into getting out, but there aren't too many destinations open. I considered flying to Tirana, Pristina, Baghdad, Dar Es Salaam, Dubai, Sao Paolo, San Jose (Costa Rica) or even back to Philadelphia. After talking to my hostess, Taxi, this morning, I decided to just stay in Lebanon, however, if I can get a visa extension tomorrow in Beirut.
Since the lockdown won't be too severe in the villages, I'll still be able to walk around my immediate area. Taking street photos, though, is out of the question, since local authorities don't want compromising images inadvertently shown on my blog. Attacked so many times by Jews, and with Jewish planes and drones routinely violating their airspace, Lebanese know they're at war.
P.S. It's OK to photograph certain villages, say, one with a nice church, so I'll do that during the lockdown.
P.P.S. Just within the last 10 minutes, I heard three Jewish F-16's fly overhead. They're "training," or maybe flying to Syria to commit war crimes. Lovely people.

Yo Chuck,
Thanks, but I just got to the Middle East, so should linger for a while to observe, listen and learn.
Evil Elliot Abrams is in the region, not a good sign.
Linh
Abrams, (argh). 👹
I don't think you have to worry. The Arabs will take care of you.
Off topic comment, in fact relevant to nothing really.
I stayed in a hospital for a couple of days, the result of reckless idiocy mostly - got out yesterday. The stay seriously skewed my perception of reality. By the time I got out I thought I'd been there a week, and near the end it appeared that my stay might be extended. The guardians of our safety have been delegated powers of detainment. I've known that for a fair old time.
During the aftermath of Anna's death I went to see some guy - TH (a therapist of some description). I can't accurately recall the conversation, but it ended something like this...
Th: I can detain you right now.
Me: No you can't.
Th: Why not.
Me: If you pick up that phone and try to make a call, I'll destroy it and do whatever I have to do in order to subdue you. Trust me. You're no match for me in that regard.
I sat there looking at him until it sunk in that I meant what I said, then got up and walked out.
Just thought you's like to know.
Cheers,
Rudy
