I have no idea what your next peripatetic move is, so thought I'd suggest the 'logical' next step, of following the (Blue) Nile to its headwaters: Ethiopia.
I think Addis Ababa would agree with you, and would provide interesting fodder for your thought and writing.
I've considered Ethiopia, but if I remember correctly, getting in there is a bit complicated. With Covid, traveling is real hassle, with the situation at any destination uncertain from one week to the next.
