Unz Review update:

Ron Unz explains he has no objection to me moderating comments after my articles. I would have to be trained, however, in WordPress, a process complicated by my being overseas. Plus, I'd have to log in ten times a day to go through comments. Several Unz writers have tried to do this, only to give up because it's such a time-consuming pain the ass. A better solution, Ron suggests, is for me to tell him which raging trolls to ban.

I have agreed to this new arrangement. I've also asked Ron to attach a note that commenters who are not discussing the article, but are only indulging in ad hominem attacks, will not be tolerated.

After all, this is already a policy at Unz, as stated a while back. It just hasn't been enforced.

Hi Linh,

Excellent News!

I'm glad that you're returning to The Unz Review under your terms. Yours is a talent too good to be driven off by the dime-a-dozen rants of bored, old, retired guys who have too much time on their hands and too many bitter regrets in their hearts. It's always the people doing the very least who criticise the most those who are actually out there in the world doing, creating, building.

I listened to you on the Truth Jihadist podcast last night. Kevin was correct about when you're setting nasty commenters straight with your replies to them it adds value to the overall discussion and makes your comment section more informative. I also completely understood your reply to Kevin that you're absolutely sick of their two-bit shit.

Anyways, it's good you're back at The Unz Review Linh; the more people who read your writings the better.

P.S. Are you currently working on a new book between your travel posts, or are you going to combine and concentrate these travel posts, themselves, into a new book? I'm curious.

Hi Martin,

I have enough to deal with, writing articles and roaming the streets, taking photos.

Besides, I no longer have a publisher. I have enough writing to compile several books, but no publisher.

Before Seven Stories dumped me, I had submitted my Obscured Americans manuscript to them. Dan Simon had published five of my books, but after he read my "Blacks, Jews and You," he stopped being my publisher or friend.

My Collected Poems was also canceled by Chax Press. It didn't matter that all these poems had already been published, mostly by Chax Press itself. With my writing about Jewish power or black crime, I was considered a monstrous Nazi by the woke.

Hi Linh,
Im glad to see you have managed to resolve the issue wrt the UNZ site. I look forward to many more years of reading your unique observations of people and places around the world.
I get annoyed with the bitter and spiteful comments lurking at the bottom of Unz articles but occasionally I also find interesting comments and references which enable me to get a better understanding of the issue covered in the article.

Im going to follow your blog - just in case !

Keep up the good work, you are a great man.

Hi Dave,

Thanks, I slog along... I'm glad to have the issue resolved with Ron. He has his own vision, and it's his website, so he will do what he wants with it. In the end, though, I think he really means well, and Unz Review remains an important site for insights into our increasingly messed up world. I was also encouraged to see a new article by Mike Whitney. I thought he had left.

Whitney and Craig Roberts are focused on the main issue right now, the clearly diabolical machination behind the Covid crisis.

Lately, I've also started to look into climate engineering, something not addressed at all at Unz, except for one interview by Kevin Barrett of Dane Wiggington a couple years ago.

Wiggington can be found here:

Another persuasive investigator into this is MorePolly:

Hi Linh,

I appreciate your reply.

I didn't know how much your work/life has been affected by PC cancel culture in the publishing world; you remind me of Gavin McInnes and Tommy Robinson and how they are constantly being screwed over by the internet media powers who have, without concrete explanation, destroyed their exposure and incomes with the push of a button. That twitter can play "woke" and cancel an American president (Trump) for hate speech, and get away with it, is mind boggling.

Keep those books you've written but can't get published handy because I think this PC cancel culture crap will soon come to a head. When we get back to a society of free-thinking adults instead of snivelling safe-space children you'll be able to publish all those books at once. You know how to write, your thoughts are uniquely your own, and your subject matter is excellent; your books should sell in the millions once people, through proper exposure, get a taste of your material.

I'm betting you'll be "discovered" while you're still alive and kicking, while you still have years to enjoy it, not after your passing as happened to Vincent Van Gogh.

Keep the faith and keep on writing.

Hi Martin,

I used to be invited to read my poems at many American universities. I was also invited to teach at American universities, and even one German one. Needless to say, no one will touch me now. I've lost all of my literary friends.

In academia, you have to be woke. It's the most conformist environment imaginable.

In 2002, my publisher, Dan Simon, hooked me up with a two-year residency in Italy. The day after I returned to the States in 2004, I was on a NYC panel with Susan Sontag, among others.

To keep the perks coming, though, you have to stay clear of many taboos, with some instantly lethal to your career. I didn't care, though. I wasn't a careerist.

A collection of my poems was supposed to be published in Denmark, but suddenly, the translator went silent.

hi linh,
good to hear all's resolved with unz. good comments above, by you and commenters. also a good interview with kevin barrett.
susan sontag was as nasty as they come.
anyway, i agree with kevin and the commenter above who see the value in your responses to nasty readers. what i find most annoying is simply the endless off-topic conversations. maybe these people could just email each other.

Yo Dan,

Ron Unz isn't thrilled I aired my beef with UR, but everything is cool. Ron also thinks I provoked or taunted my detractors with my title, "No Country for White Pussies."

I told Ron, "The problem with these racists is that they can't read. My article actually praises the white South Africans who are here. They're tough as hell. They're not pussies!

"I have not received one negative response from any South African, only from deranged white American racists.

"As a writer and editor, you have an unmatched tolerance for insults. It's your temperament. The vulgarity and nastiness at Unz, though, often shock people. Yes, I use raw language at times, but I do not write out of malice, but often with humor. Granted, the commenters aren't writers, so they must be cruder, but it's the ugliness of their minds and hearts that is appalling, and sad.

"It's safe to say that every writer at Unz is overworking himself out of an idealism, and, obviously, especially you. I just got so frustrated at being repeatedly attacked by the people I've often defended. I mean, my last book was mostly about the plight of poor whites, or the so called 'deplorables.'

"Almost no other writer even bothers to go near them."

Jewish social engineers must be ecstatic that angry whites are even raging against those who are sympathetic towards their plight.

Perversely, there's no "esteemed" American institution more opposed to the free exchange of thoughts and ideas than today's American university ( "Centers of Knowledge" - what a joke). With my track record I could never get a job within academia or even in most normal companies. Luckily my work was civil construction in Alaska, up there they don't give a damn what you think as long as you're making the company money. I made them lots of money, their bean counters kept track.

You've clearly paid a steep price for sticking to your guns. But talent it talent: they could cancel you but not your abilities. Keep writing, keep honing your craft, keep positive, stay healthy, and you're bound to hit pay dirt.

Safe travels Linh,

Martin

the price for speaking ones mind is always, historically and in the present, that you're attacked. i had a long letter to the editor run locally with lots of letters in opposition to which i always wrote in response. some back and forths ran for a long time.
cancel culture is the current witch hunt variation. the only ones who have a clean run are those who join in with 'our free press' and act the same.
having the offending removed is certainly one avenue to take. the other is leaving them and countering the comments. it serves to address them and in various ways, continue your isolated but courageous revelations which i always enjoy. its good to have another speak the truth to power as it were.
as for the joos, i regard them as i did the italians in the sixties when they were being offended by any comment connecting them to the mafia. a few were mafia and the rest weren't. same with the joos. there are zionists and regular folk. only thing is there are more zionists among them. and those zionists are the ones who own just about everything from banks to the tv.
come here every day for your latest. was good to see you published in other venues. counter their nasty words in similar short rebuttals for edu for all.

Very good news, Lihn. I have enjoyed your articles for almost two years now and it is really convenient to get the link for them at the Review. You are one of the most perceptive analysts and reporters around, and certainly one of the freest thinkers. If you ever come to Brazil, send me an e-mail, I will show you around some places you will like.
