With the Grand Solar Minimum which has just started, countries like Iran, Iraq and Syria are expected to get much drier, their rivers are drying up there already. The decrease in temperature will also curtail harvests in the northern hemisphere. Meanwhile Al Gore, Greta and the gang are going into overdrive about Global Warming and the Green initiatives, while fossil fuels are needed to produce electricity to aid manufacturing, industry and production and to prevent people from freezing to death.

With regards to South Africa the eastern part of the country is expected to get wetter while the western part will get drier. As the eastern part is the summer rainfall area we had a bumper maize and soy bean harvest this year, with another one expected in 2022. The maize and soybeans are used to feedlot the chickens, pigs and cattle. Unfortunately most of the maize and soybean harvest is exported so there is no decrease in food prices, only a "decrease in the size of the increase of food prices". The western winter rainfall part of the country is where the wheat is produced, but overall South Africa looks like it is going to escape the worse of the coming food shortage. Most people drive bakkies (pickups) here and know where to get live sheep and even cows if necessary, the rural economy doesn't really know about cards, only cash . Even covid passports won't work here, during Apartheid we had the pass laws whereby Blacks had to produced a pass proving that they were allowed to be wherever they were. This was called the dompas (stupid pass), so there is no way the Government will be able to introduce some other kind of a dompas for covid vaccinations now. The police know that they will get shot if they stop people and ask for a dompas.

They say that when the USSR collapsed there was food available, just it didn't quite seem to reach the shops, probably the same thing is going to happen in the States.
