As I stared at this building 70 meters from the beach, a black man pushing a wheelbarrow approached, so I asked him, "Sir, is that a hotel?"
"It's a house."
"A house! That's hard to believe. For one family?"
We both laughed.
Just outside Swakopmund, there are several plots of small, identical houses, very basic, with no landscaping of any kind, surrounded by desert sand. You can be sure no whites live there.
There are black neighborhoods with pretty nice houses, but not anything like in the richest white ones.
