that shit is supposed to be illegal. the military is not constitutionally allowed to enter a u.s. city, or to train in one. i found this out years ago when living in denver. the military conducted very disturbing exercises right downtown, right over my head one day, in helicopters. i thought the guys hanging off the sides of these huge choppers were life-size dolls. it turned out they were real soldiers, presumably with live amo in their automatic weapons. probably six to a side, sitting on the floor with their feet dangling outside, maybe five or six stories up.
after maneuvering through the downtown buildings the choppers would head to the north side of downtown to a probably 50 story building, get really close then turn 90 degrees upwards and motor to the top of the building--just feet from its glass windows--then straighten back up and hover a few feet above the building while the soldiers rappelled all the way down it.
urban warfare training. now why would they need that?
