Studied Japanese for five months in hope of studying there but had to give up for family reasons. Studied Japanese again for three more months so he could work there but, again, had to give up. Nghe An, Ho Chi Minh's home providence, is notorious for its poverty. Five of the six richest Vietnamese are from Nghe An, however. In Vung Tau, many street sweepers are from that province.
