[Thanks for a $50 donation from Athens, Greece, and a $5 donation from San Francisco. Much appreciated, as always. When I'm on the streets, I often give out one or two bucks, sometimes more, or I'd buy food or drinks for people, and it's always appreciated. Well, almost always. In Detroit, I saw a woman panhandling on a freeway exit ramp, so I offered her a buck to take her photo. She grimaced, so I offered her two bucks, but she still looked disgusted, so I walked away. It's not that she objected to having her photo taken, she just wanted more money. There were many other people panhandling in that area, so I had to budget what I could give out. Also in Detroit, I gave a man $10 because he needed the money for a prescription.
Once, in Saigon, a beggar threatened to slam a Coke bottle against his own face if I didn't give him money!]
