The US government has used the September 11, 2001 attacks as a pretext to build up a “monstrous security network” to keep tabs on Americans and “snuff out domestic resistance to their misrule,” says a political analyst.
“Every time you hear about a terrorist being caught on American soil, it is an entrapment, for these are not real terrorists but people set up by the American government for propaganda purposes,” said Linh Dinh told Press TV on Saturday.
“The main targets of the NSA’s spying program are not foreign terrorists, but Americans, for this government knows there will be trouble ahead from within its borders,” he noted.
“Inflation and unemployment figures are doctored to disguise the terrible state of this country, but ordinary Americans know how desperate they are. More than a hundred million working aged Americans don’t have jobs, and even many of the ones who do must rely on food stamps to survive, so this situation is already combustible, but it will only get worse, much worse, in the months ahead,” Dinh added.
“In short, the US government is spying on Americans to snuff out domestic resistance to their misrule, and they won’t stop at spying and arresting, they’ll also shoot to kill.”
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has called for an end to National Security Agency spying activities due to the violation of constitutional rights.
Former NSA contractor Edward Snowden began disclosing classified documents to the media in June revealing the extent of the US government’s spying operations at home and abroad.
