Hi again, Linh,

...To raise money for school supplies. Just so sad.

My first ex-husband works for Level 3 Communications in Mechanicsburg. My oldest son lived in Dillsburg before we brought him to Dallas.

Amazing. And a small world.

Linh & Cindy: In late-1970s, in conversation with a Byzantine Catholic priest, he lamented, "A world of Rich Man versus Lazarus is being created."

At the time, single & employed as a Teamster dockworker at Roadway Express, Tannersville, PA, I could not grasp the Reverend's conveyed sadness, which now seems meaningful, prophetic.

Presently, in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, church food pantries are getting strained for donations. Robberies are being committed NOT just for drug money, but for basic food, cigarettes! For some families with school age kids, school supplies are threatened by busted school district budgets. I think the Byzantine priest saw all this shit coming. Thank you!

Chuck,

An old altar girl, myself, I couldn't agree more that your Byzantine priest friend was dead-on prophetic...!

Cindy: I am happy you responded to my "old time religion" comment.

Am disillusioned that so many U.S. churches have bought into the 1%'s "Rich Man & Lazarus" globalized system. However, I must REITERATE that I knew not what the Byzantine priest meant at the time (late-1970s. Indeed, he was "dead on prophetic."

Thank you very much, I am aware & respect the fact that you're not in any organization's "Amen Corner," and your mature, individual conscience speaks.
