My $24 a night room in Myeong-dong. It's not Vietnam cheap, but it's ridiculously low for central Seoul, thanks to the coronavirus. I only booked this after I had checked in at Hanoi's airport, because I wasn't even sure my plane would take off. The next day, Vietnam quarantined 200 passengers arriving from South Korea, and also refused to let another South Korean plane land in Hanoi, thus effectively ending flights between the two countries.

I had fully anticipated this scenario. I will be in this room for a few more days, then I'll likely move to a cheaper neighborhood, maybe around Mia Station, which I scoped out yesterday. Incheon or even Busan are other possibilities.

As for reentering Vietnam eventually, I'll probably do it through Cambodia, if that country doesn't prevent flights from South Korea!
