Excellent tagliatelle with salmon at Dok Mai Lao Trattoria Italiana for $10.44. Compare this to a bowl of phở for $10.95 at Phở 75 in Philadelphia. With tax and tip, it's closer to $14.
Checking for the latest prices at Phở 75, I found out its owner, a Dinh, has been murdered by his son. Five or six years ago, there was another murder linked to a Vietnamese restaurant on Washington Avenue. A Honduran killed his Vietnamse coworker in the kitchen. Also on Washington Avenue, a Vietnamese monk was murdered by a Vietnamese homeless guy about 30 years ago.
Friendly Lounge is on Washington. There are stories of people walking in there, never to be seen again. Perhaps Skinny Razor had a gas chamber and crematorium in the basement.
Just because there's no evidence doesn't mean it's not 100% true, just like the below from the official website of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum:
After the victims undressed, they were taken into the gas chamber, locked in, and killed with Zyklon B gas.
After they were killed, Sonderkommando prisoners dragged the corpses out of the gas chambers. They cut off the women’s hair and removed all metal dental work and jewelry. Then they burned the corpses in pits, on pyres, or in the crematorium furnaces. (Until September 1942, some of the corpses were buried in mass graves; these corpses were burned from September to November 1942.)
Bones that did not burn completely were ground to powder with pestles and then dumped, along with the ashes, in the rivers Soła and Vistula and in nearby ponds, or strewn in the fields as fertilizer, or used as landfill on uneven ground and in marshes.
