I also ran into 28-year-old Nathan Mathabane, whose dad Mark wrote Kaffir Boy. Nathan and I had a long conversation about Oregon, Philadelphia and New Jersey, among other topics.

Bartender is a native of Chukotka, that Russian region that nearly touches Alaska. He'd lived in Norilsk, Smolensk, Moscow and Saint Petersburg, before landing in Nha Trang just a year ago. Great dude. Great bar.
