I'm in Si Ma Cai. In this district of 26,000, less than .5% are Vietnamese. Most people are Hmong, but there are also the La Chi, of which just over 10,000 remain.
The town of Si Ma Cai has about 6,000 people. It's 2,800 feet high here, so a bit cold.

On Google maps I found Si Ma Cai and Lao Cai. Were I 20 years younger, I would come find you and urge you to stray into China with me.
