To enter Angola as an American, I will need proof of a negative Covid test then be quarantined for 10 days after arrival. Maybe they'll ease the rules soon.
Also, I've had it easy in English speaking South Africa and Namibia. In Angola, I'll have to deal with Portuguese.
our kids' sports coach here, david, is a portuguese from angola. he recently reminisced with me of his childhood there of total freedom, running wild morning till night--a cherished memory. then he moved to macao, went through the school system, lots of bullying, the usual, but he's held on tightly to those earlier memories, it seems to me. cheers,
