It won't be as bad as Gonzalo Lira says here, but it is going to get a whole lot worse than it is now.
My own father, as a safety precaution, has used the spare money he had on hand to buy $30,000 in solid gold coins (15 troy ounces worth) that he now keeps in a safety deposit box at the bank with his other gold coins.
If food shortages start getting a lot worse, and since you can't eat gold, I'm sure my ol' man will buy many, many, 100 lb. bags of rice, beans, cornmeal, flour, etc. My mom and dad live where there are plenty of elk (fresh meat) up in the Arizona mountains, though I imagine everyone up there will quickly start shooting those elk for food (and sun-drying the meat like the Indians did) if/when the situation gets lawlessly bad; everyone also has a fireplace, and there's plenty of woods, so nobody will be freezing to death in the Arizona mountains this coming winter.
If Gonzalo Lira is correct, It'll be the welfare rats in the major cities who'll be the first to go ape-shit Rwanda-style insane, to turn cannibal. That's when anyone who owns a gun and a few hundred rounds of ammo will be very, very, glad that they do.
Gonzalo’s trajectory is correct but his prices are too high. We are headed into a crap storm of the first degree. I’m not sure why I enjoy his videos so much but I do.

Hi Martin,
I think your dad should buy his bags of rice now, and keep his gold at home.
