Christians created an entire mythology about the virtue of eating bugs based on an epically bad translation of a sort of bread. So since they chose to uncritically believe that John the Baptist was a saintly man wandering around eating locusts, and that they too are uniquely pure, good and saintly people who like John the Baptist were chosen to call souls to their creator, God will let them live out their twisted fantasy of spiritual superiority only to reveal to them how ugly their beliefs really have become.
The west is full to the brim with cake already. Let them eat bugs.
