It's scary. At the beginning of last summer, I watched the local addicts ( there but by the grace of God I'm not one of them) stumble up and occasionally dance up down the street. By the end of the summer, without any initiatives from local authorities, it was noticeably quieter. Most of the individuals that I'd noticed and sometimes talked with were no longer around. It's much quieter around here this year. A guy passed out in our stairwell this week and had to be asked to leave. That's about it. I don't wish addiction on anyone.
