I'm not a China sycophant, but I just assume this is all bs.
A few years ago my family and I attended the big Shen Yun Chinese New Years performance, and half of it is just really cringe propaganda including some lines that say "all art and dancing is illegal in China! If you do Tai chi in the park you'll be sent to prison! " Then I went home to see if that's true and found a bunch of videos of Tai chi at Chinese parks.
The weirdest thing was the ending which featured projected images of the faces of Marx and Lenin among other "western" communists who never ruled China, but not a single image of, or reference to Mao.
As you must know, there's a lot of anti-China propaganda on YouTube also. Their buildings are falling apart, their young people are lying down, their army is useless and their economy is about to implode. If it wasn't such a pain to get a visa, I'd try to go there for a look.
