In December of 2017, a Russian couple from Saint Petersburg opened Vũng Tàu's first donut shop. It had three flavors, sugar, strawberry and chocolate. The shop grew to sell 1,000 donuts daily in 13 flavors. The people of Vũng Tàu would say Russian donuts the way you'd say American hot dogs. Copycat shops appeared advertising "Russian donuts," but this one is called "Soviet Donuts"!
