She was walking back and forth on the street, very dirty, scratching herself, a real mess, then she lay on a bus bench and talked to herself, sobbing practically, but as soon as I talked to her, she became radiant and sane. Even at that moment, I was struck by her instant transformation. She was very pleased by this image. I lent her my cell phone to call a friend in Baltimore, and I haven't seen her since, so hopefully she got back to Baltimore.
