This warehouse is in Northern Liberties, traditionally a pretty rough, working class Irish neighborhood, now becoming somewhat gentrified. The homeless used to crouch through holes in the walls, before they were plugged up. Inside, there were dirty mattresses, clothes and food. Half a block away, there were also several makeshift dwellings made of tarps. Most of those have been cleared.
A hundred and twenty yards away, in the opposite direction, is Philadelphia's brand new casino, Sugarhouse.
