A new study by the Annie E. Casey Foundation shows that nearly 8 million children were residing in high-poverty areas. In 2000, 6.3 million children lived in poor neighborhoods, a 25 percent increase.
Linh Dinh, a political analyst and writer in Philadelphia says, “There is much more poverty in the United States than is acknowledged by the government.”
Dinh, who spoke to Press TV on Thursday, pointed out, “Of course, poverty is going up and of course there are more children in poverty, including homeless children and children who don’t have enough food.”
