Every time I see this photo, it feels like someone is punching me in the chest. That little girl's bike, my four year-old daughter has one just like it.
It scares me. Like many families, ours is a paycheck away from destitution if the unthinkable were to happen and I lost my job. It could be us. Something I get sick thinking about. There's just so little security...no real "safety net."
And now, just a few weeks ago, we discovered we have our fourth little one on the way (at my spring chicken age of 41). I must be crazy, huh?
