Visiting from Tasmania, Daryl Davies inside the Tenderloin's 21 Club. A follower of this blog, Daryl showed up at my Berkeley poetry reading, then we hung out some in San Francisco and Oakland. Daryl gave me a jar of excellent Tasmanian honey.

Johnny Cash was on the juke box. Daryl said that Cash wasn't big in Australia, which surprised me, as well as those two guys in the background. Somehow we all thought that Cash would be particularly appealing to Aussies.
