My neighborhood. Two unusual crimes in Philly yesterday: a Temple professor was mugged inside a campus building, and on my very block, two armed men tried to rob the Center City Soft Pretzel Company. This business has been there 32 years but has never had an attempted robbery before. Though it is open 24/7, it is in the heart of the Italian Market, long considered one of the safest parts in Philly, but the Italian Mafia ain't what it used to be.
