Americans may see drone strikes inside US

Iran's Press TV, 11/12/13:

The US government may use drone strikes inside the United States against domestic enemies in the future, an analyst says.

“For the cynical and sinister American politicians, drone strikes are a more feasible alternative to having troops on the ground, so we will likely see more of these in the future, not less, and not just in Pakistan,” political analyst Linh Dinh told Press TV on Tuesday.

“We may even see drone strikes inside the United States against domestic enemies. Maybe then, Americans will wake up to the true nature of their government,” he added.

The analyst also denounced US drone attacks in other countries, saying that “no country has a right to routinely execute citizens of another country, but that’s what the United States has been doing for over nine years now, with its regular drone strikes into Pakistan.”

“The US is justifying these illegal actions by saying that it is going after terrorists, but regular citizens are routinely killed,” Linh Dinh said.

He called the attacks counterproductive because they radicalize the targeted population.

“For every person killed, a drone strike creates a thousand new enemies for the USA, but this hatred and tension is good for the American war profiteers, for this war machinery needs perpetual bloodshed to make money, so they will happily create more and more enemies,” he said.

“Meanwhile, almost no Americans pay attention to this outrage. They don’t care that their government is routinely killing people who don’t threaten America at all, and since these drone strikes don’t put American lives at risk, they are not a political liability,” he added.

It's a sad commentary on the apathy and complete lack of empathy by most Americans. I would guess that the poor and downtrodden in the USA would have empathy, if they had the time and energy to learn about drone strikes.

But the shrinking and so-called "middle-class" doesn't care about much other than their iDevices, brain-dead TV shows, and cheap consumer goods. They will wake up soon enough when their nation collapses into 3rd world status due to the depredations of the sociopaths at the top.
