Every US administration served Israel’s interests: Linh Dinh

Iran's Press TV, 3/18/14:

Every administration in the United States, including Obama’s, has served Israel’s interests, says Linh Dinh, a Vietnamese-American writer.

Several US congressmen have recently criticized President Barack Obama for not pressuring acting Palestinian Authority chief Mahmud Abbas to accept Israel as a Jewish state.

Obama met with Abbas in the White House on Monday and urged him “to take some tough political decisions and risks” if he wants the so-called peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority to proceed.

“Every American political establishment has served Israel, so the criticism of Mahmud Abbas by numerous American congressmen is no surprise,” Dinh told Press TV on Tuesday.

“They’re faulting him for not accepting Israel as a Jewish state, but in reality, he has conceded to every other Zionist demand, including rejecting the Palestinian right of return, condemning any form of Palestinian armed resistance to Zionist aggression, and conceding 80 percent of Palestine to Israel. 80 percent!” he added.

“So in spite of the American congress portrayal of Abbas as some kind of intransigent Palestinian leader, he’s in fact a very accommodating one to Zionist interests, and that’s precisely the kind of criticism he has received from his own people,” Dinh stated.

He went on to say that the talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority are a cover to steal more Palestinian land and kill more Palestinian people.

“Israel and the White House have been talking to Abbas because he is an alternative to Hamas, but this is only a charade. They need to pretend to negotiate with some Palestinian leader, so they have picked the weakest one, someone they don’t have to concede anything to, and as they maintain this appearance of dialogue, Israel will continue to take even more land from Palestinians, and murder even more Palestinians,” Dinh said.

“They [Israelis] will create Zionist facts on the ground. As for Abbas’ rejection of recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, it’s the least he can do to even have a shred of credibility,” he said, adding that the founding of Israel in Palestine was “a terrible idea,” and it “has only survived through American-supported Jewish terrorism and ethnic cleansing against the indigenous population.”

“It makes no sense that a Jew from any corner of the world, migrating to Palestine, should have more rights there than an indigenous person, but as long as American money lasts to support this travesty, this disaster will continue,” Dinh concluded.
