With 56 stores, Lee's Sandwiches is the biggest Vietnamese chain restaurant in the U.S. At this location, the young cashier spoke Vietnamese. Few young Vietnamese-Americans can speak their parents' language. As I was photographing, I was conscious that the staff might mistake me for a visitor from Vietnam. My northern accent further added to the illusion.
