Flyer-in-Spanish-announcing-a-fundraising-sidewalk-sale-for-Nepalese-earthquake-victims--Italian-Market

"100% OF THE PROCEEDS WILL BE DIRECTLY SENT TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE THAT OCCURED ON APRIL 25TH!

TODAY, MAY 10TH!"

On a related note, Chuck Orloski told me he went to a Bolivian church in Taylor, PA to attend a fundraising for the Nepalese earthquake victims.

Where's a good place to donate to for earthquake relief? I'm turned off by the big name charities (like the Red Cross and Oxfam) because of their high overhead costs and the fact that Oxfam didn't bother to respond to an inquiry I had after I donated to the Boxing Day tsunami relief efforts in 2004.

Linh: The Bolivian Church who sponsored the dinner for the benefit of Nepal earthquake victims is NOT located in Scranton. The Church is on Main Street, Taylor, only 50 feet from the entrance to Canadian Pacific (C.P.) rail yard.

My friend Jack Reese first found out about the benefit dinner advertised on F.M. radio , and he insisted on treating me, paid for my delicious meal, which included yucca vegetable. I thought it was potato until a very nice lady explained what it was.

Get this, on Sunday June 13, the Bolivian Church community plans another benefit dinner for Nepal, and as Jack and I plan to attend again, & come the 16th, I'll save leftovers for you.

Jack tells me after having spent 22-years in prison, he sincerely regrets how he's become so hard to "pin down." ha-ha! What a pisser -- I tell Jack he looks terrific for age 65, father of 8-children, and he smiles & quips, "O yea, Chuck, prison life preserved me."

Yo Chuck,

I just changed Scranton to Taylor. I didn't even know there was a Bolivian community in tiny Taylor!

Yes, I'll certainly appreciate the leftover, but if it's too delicious and you can't help yourself, I won't blame you for eating it all!
