Roebling is named after John A. Roebling and Sons. Their steel mill provided cables for the Golden Gate Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge, among others. Muscular work gone, there are now 100 adult women to every 86.7 men in Roebling (compared to 94.8 for New Jersey).
