The "art" on the wall in the background of the picture is a lot better than your shitty poems.

Unknown said...

Beautiful picture... looks like no one had to say "cheese" for smiles, at the moment, all four of you are happy. Cheers!

Today Santa Claus came to Scranton, Linh. The city changed the route a bit & paraded around Courthouse Square. I think the forlorn Santa you and I met @ Steamtown Mall is now employed at the more lively Dickson City mall, I'll check the matter out.

Jeezez, somebody move quickly & give Anonymous (above) a top job, including revolver & a badge, in the New World Order Ministry of Art!

x larry said...

anonymous--perhaps you're THE anonymous, in which case, keep to propagandizing for Master:
your evil little comment typifies what wilhelm reich called the emotional plague of mankind: the bad faith, the lack of sensitivity and feeling, and above all the desire to hurt. it indeed does hurt me to see that this beautiful photo inspired such a comment by the likes of you. i hope one day, perhaps in another life, you'll see the light--linh is filled with this light, and his comment on the joy of my children (i will add too the innocence--something almost impossible for a parent to maintain even to the age of four in this hell) is beautiful and i thank him for it.

Anonymous said...

Chuckyboy, your comments are of the same top notch quality as Linh's poems. But while he seems like a likeable guy and has a nice blog with interesting content (exempt for the shitty poems) going for him, you seem like the fascist type of guy who would like to shut other people up for telling their honest opinion. Are you perchance a social justice warrior?

Oh and Sherlock, hurry off and "check the matter out". The world needs to know about forlorn Santa!

x larry said...

ps anonymous,
that 'so-called art' or whatever you called it is the loving work of a four year old, and is indeed in my opinion just about the most beautiful art i've ever seen, as he is so innocent and inspired. you should be ashamed of yourself and devote the rest of your life to the slum children in central america or some such place--not that i imagine you'd do them any good.

ps thanks chuck

Anonymous said...

@x larry

Yeah, well. I have kids too, you know. And while it certainly warms my heart when I see their "art" I have brains enough to not call it "about the most beautiful art i've ever seen". Quite a moronic statement but also fitting for a Reich disciple.

And why would I take care of other's people children when I have my own? Do you know the meaning of the word "responsibility"? As in I have my own responsibility to my children and other parents have theirs? So while I take care of other people's problems like you suggest their parents can fuck around some more and again inrease the burden for others?

That some kind of disciple of Reich logic?

x larry said...

slathering hateful shit all over the internet anonymously is unfortunately a far too common occupation for far too many who think they have 'brains enough'.

Anonymous said...

@ x larry

"your evil little comment", "the likes of you", "you should be ashamed of yourself", "slathering hateful shit"

Wow, seems you like to fight fire with fire. :-) Are you able to perceive the irony in this, my hypocritical friend? Of course I wouldn't expect anything less of a Reich disciple.

And I assume "x Larry" is your real name? It has to be, considering your attitude towards us hateful, little, slathering anonymous cowards.

Anonymous,
You are one tedious turd; all buzzwords and bad spelling. Please troll some other site. Thank you.

Linh Dinh said...

Hi all,

I went to bed early last night, so wasn't introduced to Anonymous until this morning. I'm sure vandalism is his biggest thrill in life. There are so many intensely vile hell dwellers like him, and they're multiplying quickly. Such is the state of our decadence.

Linh

Linh Dinh said...

P.S. Relentless, sneering sarcasm is a sure hallmark of a hell dweller.

@ Linh Dinh

"There are so many intensely vile hell dwellers like him"

Linh, wouldn't it be wise to leave some room for mass murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc. ??!!

Come on, I know that you aren't that stupid and vain. Or maybe not, who knows such things anymore? Appearances are what matter today.

I even praised you further above but apparently that went unnoticed. It's exclusively the negative you want to perceive.

There are only extremes in this day and age. Either one is the epitome of goodness or a vile hell dweller. How nice of you to accept and propagate this media imposed narrative. It makes ruling so much easier.

But why wouldn't you? By accepting money from the state for your "teaching" assignment you are now part of the system. A system that robs me of my money in order to pay the likes of you to come to my country and teach some morons how to write shitty poems. I bet Goethe, Schiller, Lessing and all the others would be truly proud of their descendants.

@ salish cedars

Judging by your comment you seem like a real giant of the mind. Maybe you want to come to Germany to teach at university? I have it on good authority that nowadays people like you are in good demand. And please bring x larry and chuckyboy. After all the world still needs to learn about forlorn Santa.

Linh Dinh said...

Anonymous, you illuminate nothing. You just fling shit. That's my definition of a hell dweller. How do you get off by calling someone "chuckyboy"? You are filled with negative emotions and you can't even see yourself. I really feel sorry for your wife and kids.

Linh Dinh said...

P.S. I seriously doubt you're German. I have not met such a graceless, humorless and mean spirited person in my two months here, and this is my third visit. I've long had the highest regard for Germans and German culture. If you're really German, then you're doing your country a great disservice by coming off like this.

Anonymous said...

Linh, I just tried to tell you that there is more than black and white. Yes, I have negative emotions. I have also positive emotions.

You imply a possibility to judge a whole country by the actions of one individual countryman. Again a rather simple view of the world. Your poems reflect this kind of simplicity of the mind. And honestly, it doesn't make them any better for it.

Linh, it's easy to criticize me while living on my and my fellow countrymen's hard earned money while we can do nothing about it. That is Germany today in it's pitiful glory. We are getting force fed vietnamese-american "poets" and their shitty poetry down our throats while the cinema dirties the memory of Goethe with movies called "Fuck you Goethe". Your photos and writings paint a true and honest painting. I have to give you that and I will gladly admit that you perceived better the state in which my country is in today than 95% of my fellow countrymen.

Soon there will be no more Germans and our culture will be a thing of the past.

Thanks for your concern about my wife and kids. It warms my heart to learn that a total stranger is so very worried about their well beeing.

Linh Dinh said...

How are Vietnamese-American poets being force fed to Germans?! First of, I'm not here to teach poetry and, secondly, which other Vietnamese-American poet has been invited here to teach anyone anything? What are you talking about?

Ian Keenan said...

If you are being force-fed Vietnamese-American poets, you should switch butchers. Goethe's legacy is more tarnished by reactionaries (often anonymous) who pretend they wouldn't spit on his when he was alive. Is the legacy of Büchner, who had to flee the country at age 21, also being tarnished to your tastes? "Childish" was the term the Nazis used to describe Paul Klee during the degenerate exhibition. But I thought "Young Goethe in Love (originally titled Goethe!)" was really bad. They just tacked the plot of Titanic onto Goethe's life. Goethe's romantic complications were actually much more interesting.

Ian Keenan said...

If you're anxious about mass immigration in Germany, you should ask your German political leaders why they support the US's part in destablizing Syria, Libya, and Iraq. How convenient that the military misadventures in the Middle East/ North Africa feed the European right wing. The wars consist of the right wing thugs selected by NATO this year ousting the thugs (in Syria and Iraq) they propped up fifty years ago.

salish cedars said...

Anonymous,
You're a real hoot! I never claimed to be a giant of the mind nor am I in the "ed biz" so I won't be flying over to teach anytime soon. Moreover, you sound like a dumbass reactionary rather than a thoughtful conservative. I sympathize with the plight of Germans (and other Europeans) vis a vis the refugee situation more than you realize. See my post on Lihn's Marching Forest thread. I think all peoples have a right to their place and collective soul, and I fully support place-based identity (note my handle). But of course you just ASSUMED I am a self-hating bleeding heart rootless cosmopolitan craving the total homogenization of the planet. I am not. Do note Ian's post about cause and effect: no destabilization, no refugee crisis.

Olliver Wichmann:

I seriously doubt that "anonymous" is a real German. There are none of the typical grammar and spelling errors or oddities in word choice that could back up this hypothesis. I rather believe this person is as American as apple pie and has an axe to grind with Linh for whatever reason.

More interesting I find his absolute value judgment about "shitty poems", because that implies he might be superior and more competent in the field of literature than the object of his scorn. In that case I'd be interested in learning about his qualifications and publications or his academic credentials that would confirm his authority. Had he expressed his opinion that he doesn't like the poems than nobody would have an issue, but I'm afraid the anonymous writer is unaware of this small but noticeable difference.

If it is all about the poems, then why not posting the comment below one of them, perhaps the one the person finds the most offending? My suspicion is that the choice for the comment has been done on purpose in order to maximise the hoped-for "humiliation". Perhaps "anonymous" just cannot stand the sight of happy children and to adults meeting in a peaceful atmosphere. When all you know is hatred, then all deviations from it may be disturbing to some.

Contrary to what anonymous wants to make readers believe, the professorship of American literature in Leipzig has a corporate sponsor, so no taxpayer's money was involved. But even if, what is wrong with native speakers being professor for American literature, when one of the obvious key qualifications is proficiency in English writing? What is wrong with fine arts in general?

If you want to see where a nation is heading to once it has fully subscribed to the neoliberal ideology and did away with everything that has no "return on investment" (like education has to be profitable in the first place!), I strongly suggest to read one of the articles on Indonesia by Andre Vltchek.

hail to olliver! couldn't agree more about seeing happy children and people in general cranking up the hate meters of certain (all too common) types.
i must say my first impression was that he's an american--only americans are so crass, ignorant, rude, in your face. i wasn't totally convinced he was german once he declared he was, so thanks again for your comment, olliver. it crossed my mind that he's an agent p., which i still think is a possibility. perhaps he will now seep back into his ooze. to bring up goethe!

salish cedars said...

x larry,
Funny you should mention that he might be an a.p. In my last comment I made an aside that he might be working from a basement in an undisclosed location in the old dominion, except that I actually named the place. My comment would not post even after several tries following all the prompts. On a whim, I deleted the sentence in question and the comment posted.

Linh Dinh said...

Hi salish cedars,

Please send me the name of the place. I want to find out more about it. My email, linhdinh99@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Olliver said...

salish cedars,
I too had a posting issue yesterday with something triggering the "bin mode", that's why Linh kindly posted it for me.

X larry,
if anonymous is a paid agent provocateur that would actually explain his modus operandi and the choice of his "victims". It's all about derailing communication and descending into a virtual shouting match in order to drive away visitors and render a page with critical/undesired content irrelevant.

If he's an American agent p he's trying to mimic British English with 'at university.' If he's impersonating a German he's leading with the malicious honing in on participants' emotions and then disclosing that he's been following the board and is offended by certain references as a 'German,' so if the German part is fake he didn't lead with it. Anything's possible, there's creeps like him everywhere, and the governments' budgets (and corporate sponsorship) for agent p's probably eclipses (and definitely utilizes) education at this point.

Ian Keenan said...

US federal spending on college education $73B.
US Intel spending over $80B.

Ian Keenan said...

also (especially today) most agent p's are self-starting, receiving no direction or funding while certain types want to, which exacts a vague affiliation. Serge's State Repression is still the best psychological study I know of.

x larry said...

ian and olliver,
thanks for the interesting comments. i'm quite convinced of it now--it's either the pentagon, state department, or new york times style of writer (remember vidal's quip that nyt writers seemed to speak german as a first language). it has just dawned on me that this might be some very high tech 'thinking' program from the pentagon, able to use jargon, slang, swear words. consider a few quotes below--cheers.

I suggest "anonymous " simply just might be young, late 30s at most. I note how he/she commendably asserted (above) that Linh's pictures paint a true picture of modern Germany, and I really do not mind being called "Chuckyboy" especially by those who suffer intellectual/spiritual "growth" (maturity) pains.

Our world, our times, are most confusing. A couple weeks ago, while cleaning-up tables & chairs at St. Francis Soup Kitchen, Scranton, PA, I met a most downtrodden man;lame, alone, sincere. Surprisingly, he started to complain about how some dude just stole his jacket while he went back in line for "seconds." "That's a real prick's trick, Sir," I said.

"Maybe, buddy, but I've come to grips with the goddamn 'dog-eat-dog' paradise I'm settled in, and I don't know what to tell such people anymore but I'll get me another coat tomorrow at the Rescue Mission."

Strange as it may seem, and unless "anonymous" is truly an agent provocateur and is totally lost, I have a percentage of pity for those like him. There's an old saying how a "little knowledge can be a dangerous thing," and then in America, we have brilliant hypocrite lunatics who serve to feed the illusions of the intellectually & morally dispossessed. Hell, at 63-years old, I really do not know what to say to "anonymous" but thanks for naming me "Chuckyboy" but I'll keep the old one my parents gave me in 1952.

the u.s. lacks in so much, which is why linh 'postcards from the end of america' is so timely and true in that it painfully describes the implosion, the disintegration, of america. how did it so quickly come to this? one could say, 'human nature', but true though this is the u.s. is a special case. our boarder and history being what they are, we have always been a universe unto ourselves. the rest of the world is just too far away, too remote. true, the very interesting mexico is just next door, but our traditional racism has prevented us from treating mexicans in any way as equals. canada no one gives a thought to. then there's the obvious puritan history which the original 'settlers'--notice the precise resonance with modern israelis--brought with them, being generally despised and forced to leave their native lands.

but the problems for modern americans are insurmountable. they are easily brainwashed through their fanatical churches, homogenized, corporate school system with a centralized directorship discerning which textbooks to use, testing standards, etc, but by far most importantly through t.v. and other mass 'culture' whose culture? why, simply Master's culture of death and hate. americans stand no chance, and it blatantly shows. they can't stand up to their invisible masters, they think they're just innocent and apolitical but they just do exactly as master wishes: they hate the directed flavor of the month, they cry on cue, they always stay 'apolitical' by genuinely having no interest in any others than themselves and the few people they know, much less in people living in other countries. why this lack of interest in the world? (see above)

people in all countries, the plebes i should say, are thoroughly confused by design, but americans for now matter the most because they are the ones who must be properly mentally and spiritually prepared to join the military and then the police forces. the military is one of america's biggest employers, perhaps the biggest--i haven't checked. compare this to england or france. there is no comparison. so america has been allotted the very dirty, dangerous job of bombing, occupying and otherwise policing the world, including razing entire civilizations to the ground and committing genocide. you must have a callous, hard, stupid, inhuman population to accomplish this vast task. they're brainwashed and hardened here in europe too, certainly many are in england, but this is far more towards economic supremacy.

i'll stop there with my boring sermon--linh's readers know all this anyway, and no one else gives a flying fuck

x larry said...

ps sorry for the vltchek-esque sound off there--we're the only ones who understand. not true of course

x larry said...

but, oh dear!, i nearly forgot the main cause that not just america but everyone is doomed to a life of hell and servitude: the internet. all of our jobs point to one thing, master's supremacy. the internet ensures without a doubt that this supremacy will even increase, as much as that's possible, including microchipping us all, controlling the weather (more), controlling thoughts physically (more and more), giving us vibrational frequencies which make certain thoughts, indeed all thoughts, impossible, directing our feeble minds to worthless shit such as celebrity and sports and completely engineered 'news' like this or that bombing or terrorist. they're watching us all, all the time. they're always testing us--who's got a brain still, let's use this precision tool up in the ionosphere to work him over and see how he reacts. this partial list is just the beginning. as signs all over britain say, 'smile, you're on cctv!'

x larry said...

not forgetting ideological tools--getting capitalists to be ready to fight communists and socialists to the death, using provocateurs and false and misinformation to confuse the shit out of even anarchists. who can tell what's true? what's absolutely certain is that NOTHING from hollywood, the idiot box or ANY mass media is. but what about 'alternative' sources, the counterpunches and democracy nows which proliferate? they all toe the line, laid down by the chomskys and vltcheks and goodmans. conspiracy, what conspiracy? and what of the lunatics: alex jones, lyndon larouche, david icke?
thanks, i'll really try to stop this time

Unknown said...

Ian:

I forgot to say thank you for the comparison of US Federal spending on college education and Intelligence. Add to this calculus the millions of American high school students who are taught history/civics myths each day, including outright lies, and eventually undergo programmed tests?

Ah, a Hell broth for every American belly? But there is no reason for me to become a hypocrite though, Ian, for in 1984, at age 32, and while "matriculating" as a non-traditional student at the University of Scranton, I bought into much of the bull shit which the Reagan administration was successfully selling.

The great task for mankind's survival today is to avoid letting its conscience get poisoned by contact with the 1%. Make that the 1% - 10 %? No doubt, global scale Thought Force-Feedings are underway, and unfortunately, the biological odds are that entrapment enjoys company. Thank you.

Ian Keenan said...

Hi Chuck, K-12 education gets $43B, mostly funded locally. College education is receiving less and less state money because of balance budget amendments among other things. I agree with your third paragraph - it's a big topic, with reasons to be hopeful.

Unknown said...

hi Ian,

I live in Pennsylvania. For months to date, the state has not passed a budget, and consequently, public school districts do not get any money. For 2016, the Scranton School District projected spending needs and accrued debt amounts to over $18 million.

The local Fells Township Charter School teachers are working 4-days per week, salaries deferred to brighter days, and such "sacrifice" is being lauded in local media outlets. (Note: Area Charter Schools receive money from the geographical district where they are located, and Fells has the mi$fortune of operating in rocky geography) Thank you.

salish cedars said...

Hi Chuck,
When you say that their salaries are being deferred do you mean to say the teachers are working without pay? How can that be?
