Monkey Business is a unique, cutting-edge annual literary journal which showcases newly-translated Japanese as well as contributions from contemporary American and British writers. It was founded in 2008 by Motoyuki Shibata, one of Japan’s most highly regarded men of letters. (Shibata translated my Blood and Soap into Japanese, by the way. He's a great, down to earth guy. I met Shibata and his wife for the first time last October in Singapore.)

Dear Linh, I wouldn't miss these events if I weren't in central Ohio. On your next pass through New York, I expect to be back in town, and won't fail (i.e. will try not to fail) to take in your appearances. In the meantime, wishing you smooth travels and receptive hearers = David L
Thanks a lot, David! Four events in a week are a bit much, but I'm looking forward to spending some time in NYC. My tight schedule will probably preclude me running over to Jersey City. The owner of the Golden Cicada is a very interesting man, and I'd love to profile him someday.
