They're all Chinese and natives of Vinh Chau. Once a week, they meet at the Seven Wonders Restaurant to socialize and discuss how they can help their community, back in Vinh Chau. Although city dwellers, they identify very strongly with their native village, like most Chinese and Vietnamese. At the table, the conversation was mostly in Teochew, so I had no idea what they were saying. The food, their treat, was excellent.
