This 65-year-old man was drafted into the ARVN in 1970, but he had a cousin who joined the Viet Cong. During the war, he would occasionally meet not just this cousin, but a few of the cousin's comrades. They would have tea and chatter, then go back to their fighting units. On April 16th, 1975, the cousin relayed a message to him that he should go AWOL immediately, for the end was near, and this man didn't just do this, but tried to switch sides. Thanks to his cousin, he was never sent to a reeducation camp.
