Donna’s Bar in a barely hanging-on Polish corner of Port Richmond. I had a plate of bigos, pierogi and Zywiec beer, and the people were lovely. If only life could be this sane all the time, everywhere.
I ate at Port Richmod's Krakus Market last Saturday evening, which I never do because I always go to Syrenka across the street when I'm there but Syrenka had just closed. At the market got Polish fennel tea, hunter's stew (which I was sharing with a Polish/Serb co-worker with a junkie son tonight), ham, canned fish, and pierogies (kraut, meat). Nothing beats Syrenka, and the people around there are the best.. 'if only..'
