Sorry for the perhaps dumb/naive question, and for not looking online myself right now, but are monks celibate? -- like priests (are supposed to be) -- also, are there regular services, e.g. at a temple, where worshipers can donate?
Monks are celibate, but most of these guys are only monks temporarily. Yes, people donate plenty to these temples. Unlike Christians, Buddhists don't commonly hear a sermon when they visit a temple.
