They're the famous jars in the Plain of Jars. Archeologists have tentatively concluded that they were funerary urns, for some have been found with personal items, like beads, and even human bones.
They're at least 2,000 years old. No one knows who put them there.
The Plain of Jars was the most heavily bombed area in the history of mankind, so thousands must have been destroyed, yet there are still thousands left.
At this site, there are bomb craters right near the jars.
